All right, this band is for all you metal heads out there who like a good, solid, well-known German Industrial Metal band. Rammstein's been turning heads for two decades (Which, once you think about it, is actually quite a long time).
Rammstein is comprised of four factory-weary proletariats raised in the Eastern part of Germany. Interesting fact about the name "Ram stein": It literally translates to English as a battering ram made of stone. Why the extra 'm?' Apparently it's because "They took their name (adding an "m") from the location of a German tragedy where 80 people were hurt and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force flight show" (Rammstein Biography).
Some of their greatest hits include "Du Hast," "Sensucht," "Engel," and many more. When Rammstein began, their unique style of performing, which blended well the attributes of musicality and theatre, drew crowds outside of Germany to their music by the tens of thousands. However, it wasn't until the release of their second album, Sensucht, that they were known more on a world scale than a from a European scale. Their powerful German lyrics and sound that brings about thoughts of chaos and impending doom to the minds of many is contagious among metal fans, and that is why Rammstein is a band to be recognized.
